Taking the step to pursue therapy is a big decision and I hope that the information provided here helps you navigate the process of choosing a provider.
I provide individual, couples, and family therapy for clients struggling with a wide variety of issues. I have experience working with people across the lifespan, with specific expertise in trauma, adjustment issues, transition to adulthood, gender spectrum related issues, work with the LGBTQQIA community, and depression and anxiety.
I practice an integrative approach to therapy, implementing relational, cognitive-behavioral (CBT and DBT), developmental, and psychodynamic techniques in my work. I strongly believe in the need for tailoring the techniques used to meet the needs of the individual therapeutic relationship. I emphasize a collaborative approach to treatment that empowers clients to feel responsible for their own change, and to then feel capable of continuing their own work outside of the therapy office. I strive to provide my clients with both concrete skills to aid in immediate symptom relief, and deeper relational work to understand the developmental underpinnings of the issue at hand. I feel this combination of focus on the present and exploration of the past is paramount for long term growth and relief of symptoms.
